Starting in June, the entire Pink Floyd catalog will be reissued on vinyl via the band’s Pink Floyd Records imprint. The first four Pink Floyd records will be released on June 3, namely The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn (1967), A Saucerful Of Secrets (1968), More (1969) and Ummagumma (1969).
Look for Pink Floyd Records to reproduce the vinyl catalog throughout 2016 with release dates to be announced at regular intervals. Pink Floyd’s catalog was last issued on vinyl over two decades ago. The first set of releases have been mastered by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman and will be pressed on 180gram vinyl for optimum sound quality.
“We are proud to continue the long standing relationship in North America and beyond between Columbia Records and Pink Floyd. We are excited to work together with the band on their incredible musical legacy,” said Rob Stringer, Chairman and CEO of Columbia Records who are working with the band on the vinyl campaign. An announcement of the campaign mentions “special care has been taken to replicate the original packaging.”
