Coldplay turned their concert on Tuesday in Nashville into a memorable affair by dedicating the performance to Ozzy Osbourne. Frontman Chris Martin played a heartfelt rendition of Black Sabbath’s “Changes” in honor of the legendary metal band’s co-founder, who died yesterday at age 76.

“We’d like to dedicate this whole show to the incredible, genius talent and characterful gift to the world who was Ozzy Osbourne,” Martin told the Nashville audience. “We send love to his family.”

Martin then played an abbreviated solo piano version of Black Sabbath’s “Changes.” The tender ballad originally appeared on Sabbath’s fourth album, 1972’s Vol. 4.

“OK, Ozzy, we love you!” Martin added. “Wherever you’re going, thank you for everything!”

Martin and his bandmates had another special moment planned for Tuesday’s show at Nissan Stadium. Performing on the smaller circular secondary stage, Coldplay was joined by country musician Keith Urban for a performance of “Til Kingdom Come,” which was co-written by Martin and Urban.

“Thank you, my brother, for being here,” Martin said as Urban appeared on stage next to him. “This is a song we wrote for Johnny Cash, and it was all ready for him to record – it was in his next batch of songs – and then he passed on. We always sing it in his honor because Johnny Cash is one of the first musicians most of us fell in love with. I’m sure most of you, too.”
