Primus paid musical and visual tribute to Ozzy Osbourne during their concert Tuesday at Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The influential Black Sabbath frontman died on Tuesday at age 76.
Primus is currently on their Onward & Upward Tour, which is the first to feature bassist Les Claypool and guitarist Larry “Ler” LaLonde, with new drummer John Hoffman.
Tuesday’s concert in Bridgeport began with “Those Damned Blue-Collar Tweekers,” which included a tease of Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man.” The trio then worked up a partial presentation of Osbourne’s classic “Crazy Train” while images of The Prince Of Darkness appeared on the screens behind the band.
Later in the set, Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” served as the intro to “HOINFODAMAN.” Along with the Ozzy tributes, Primus also offered the tour debut of “Pudding Time” last night at Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater.
