Members of Dopapod will join Club d’Elf later this month to play a pair of “DOPAd’ELF” concerts in upstate New York. The ensemble will perform at Putnam Place in Saratoga Springs on October 11 and at Rochester’s Three Heads Brewing on October 12.
“DOPAd’ELF” consists of Club d’Elf founder/bassist/composer Mike Rivard and turntablist Mister Rourke along with Dopapod guitarist Rob Compa, keyboardist Eli Winderman and drummer Neal “Fro” Evans. The Gantzer / Compa Acoustic Duo featuring Rob Compa and Aqueous guitarist Mike Gantzer will open both shows.

“One of the things that helps to keep the music fresh is when new musicians sit in, especially folks that have been long-time fans of the band and know the music well,” noted Mike Rivard in a press release. “Rob and Fro had both guested with d’Elf on a number of occasions, and it was a great fit – super comfortable, energetic and relaxed at the same time. For a show at the Brooklyn Bowl we added Eli to the mix, and the combination of long-shared history that the Dopapod guys obviously had with each other, together with the spontaneity of all of us playing together for the first time, created an amazing experience. It was so much fun that we all agreed we should repeat it.
The stars finally aligned, and together with Mister Rourke we’re getting the band back together again! It’s also Rob’s birthday weekend – not to mention that Rochester is his hometown – so it’s safe to say these shows will be pretty epic!” Rivard added.
Tickets for both DOPAd’ELF concerts are on sale now.
