Circles Around The Sun Concludes Colorado Run In Boulder: Full Show Audio
By Scott Bernstein Jan 7, 2019 • 10:06 am PST
Instrumental quartet Circles Around The Sun began 2019 with a run of three shows in Colorado. The brief jaunt concluded on Saturday with a performance at the Boulder Theater in which the group focused on material from their two studio albums.
Guitarist Neal Casal, keyboardist Adam MacDougall, drummer Mark Levy and bassist Dan Horne opened their set in Boulder with the first three tracks from 2018’s Let It Wander: “On My Mind,” “One For Chuck” and “Immovable Object.” The unreleased “Adam’s Jam” then flowed into “Saturday’s Children” from 2015’s Interludes For The Dead. An expansive “Gilbert’s Groove” gave way to Let It Wander’s “Halicarnassus” before Circles Around The Sun concluded the set with “Scarlotta’s Magnolias.” CATS went with “Ginger Says” as the evening’s encore.
