Singer-songwriter Christian Lee Hutson held a concert Monday night at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg in support of his album, Paradise Pop. 10, which was released last Friday through ANTI- Records. The album was co-produced by Hutson’s frequent collaborator Phoebe Bridgers, who made multiple appearances onstage last night during his concert that ended with a tribute to Kris Kristofferson.
The setlist was a reconstruction of the Population Pop. 10 tracklist, with each of the album’s 11 songs performed in the same sequence as the record. Bridgers made her first guest appearance for the second song, “Carousel Horses.” Bridgers came back four songs later to augment “Flamingos.”

After completing the full arc of Population Pop. 10, Hutson began Monday’s encore with Bridgers augmenting “Lose This Number” from his 2020 debut album, Beginners. That was it for Bridgers’ time on stage, during which the hood of a black cape obscured her face.
The encore continued with Hutson making note of the recent death of legendary singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson by performing the outlaw country singer-songwriter’s song “Darby’s Castle.” Kristofferson died Saturday, September 28 at age 88. Among his many credits included writing the classic song “Me And Bobby McGee” and starring in feature films such as A Star Is Born for which he won a Golden Globe.
Hutson ended Monday’s concert with the Beginners track “Northsiders.” Watch Christian Lee Hutson cover Kris Kristofferson and welcome Phoebe Bridgers to the Music Hall of Williamsburg stage last night via the videos below:
