Chris Thile Covers Bela Fleck & The Flecktones On ‘Live From Here’

Chris Thile led a performance of a cover of a Bela Fleck and the Flecktones song on the latest episode of Live From Here. Saturday’s episode featured the mandolin playing host leading the program’s house band on The Flecktones’ “Throwdown At The Hoedown.”

Banjo master Bela Fleck wrote “Throwdown At The Hoedown,” which appeared on The Flecktones’ 1996 album, Left Of Cool. Thile’s performance last Saturday at The Town Hall in New York City featured accompaniment from Live From Here band members bassist Mike Elizondo, keyboardist Alex Brown, percussionist Eric Doob, fiddler Alex Hargreaves and guitarist Matt Stevens.
