Last month, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood issued a new studio album Barefoot In The Head. During a performance last night at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington, North Carolina, frontman Chris Robinson led the group through a debut performance of one of the tracks on the recently released LP.
Nat Stuckey’s “Sweet Thang and Cisco” kicked off Wednesday’s The CRB performance, followed by takes on Barefoot In The Head cuts “High Is Not The Top” and “Blue Star Woman.” Mid-set saw the delivery of the first Chris Robinson Brotherhood live rendition of the fellow new album track, “Hark, The Herald Hermit Speaks.”
The evening also saw covers of Bob Dylan’s “Tough Mama” and The Black Crowes’ “I Ain’t Hiding,” as well as an encore performance of the Jerry Garcia Band staple, Johnny Russell’s “Catfish John.” The CRB continues their tour with a show tonight at The Orange Peel in Asheville, North Carolina.
