Chris Forsyth, Garcia Peoples and Ryley Walker are set to embark on a run of concerts culminating with a performance on New Year’s Eve. The five shows include a special Electric In The Village late-night Phish after-party at (Le) Poisson Rouge in New York City on December 30.
Following the show taking place after Phish’s concert at Madison Square Garden, the three acts head to Jerry’s On Front in Philadelphia for a performance on New Year’s Eve.
“In my experience, music is usually best when it requires a minimal amount of talking amongst the musicians to pull off, and that’s how it is playing with Garcia Peoples and Ryan Jewell and Ryley Walker,” Forsyth told JamBase. “Everyone knows the songs but is also open to changing and reacting to the moment in a way that feels fresh and real.”
The tour includes stops on December 27 at Great Scott in Allston, Massachusetts, followed by New Haven, Connecticut on December 28 and The Colony Cafe in Woodstock, New York on December 29.

“There’s a real rapport between us, I think, because we’re all devoted to collective improvisation, but also to respecting the song forms,” Forsyth added. “That’s when anything can happen. It’s a rare thing when that all comes together like I suspect it will on this tour.”
Garcia Peoples, who collaborated this year with both Forsyth and Walker, recently announced a batch of 2020 tour dates. The New Jersey-based band is supporting a pair of 2019 albums, Natural Facts and One Step Behind.
“Considering what a big year it was for GP with releasing two albums, playing 52+ shows, everything we accomplished with the help of our label, supportive team of friends, and our wonderful fans/community, we’re stoked to wrap up 2019 jamming throughout the night, Garcia Peoples guitarist Tom Malach told JamBase. “A leap forward into 2020 with our close buds Ryley Walker and Chris Forsyth, who have had nothing less of an amazing year themselves. ‘Peace, Love, and Heavy Jams’ is what this night will be about.”
Tickets to Electric In The Village: Ryley Walker, Chris Forsyth & Garcia Peoples, presented by Osiris, are available via Eventbrite. Phish’s non-profit the WaterWheel Foundation will receive $1 for each ticket sold.
