Chet Faker (Nick Murphy) released a new single, “Over You.” The track is bound for the Australian artist’s upcoming album, A Love For Strangers, arriving digitally on February 13 and physically on April 24 via BMG.
“Over You” is the opening track and fifth preview of A Love For Strangers. Previously released A Love For Strangers singles include “Can You Swim?,” “This Time for Real,” “Inefficient Love” and the album’s lead single “Far Side of the Moon.”
“Over You” is the latest glimpse of Murphy’s new album, his first under the Chet Faker moniker since 2021’s Hotel Surrender. Press materials further detailed the new track:
Filtered through the prism of a dissolving relationship, “Over You” contemplates the stop-starts of an endless journey and the search for the right exit. With plaintive vocals layered over a bittersweet breakbeat, Chet Faker ponders “where the time went so fast,” conjuring the feeling of getting lost in somebody’s memories; a nostalgic reminder of what once was, knowing that it can’t be again.
