See Carrie Underwood Thrill Guns N’ Roses Fans With Motörhead Cover

Guns N’ Roses brought the North American leg of their 2023 World Tour to Montreal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau on Tuesday. Opener Carrie Underwood rocked out to the Motörhead classic “Ace Of Spades” as the penultimate song of her set.

The Montreal play marked Underwood’s second to last support slot with GNR. The country star will rejoin the band in Nashville later this month. Last year Carrie had included GNR classics “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Paradise City” in her sets, culminating in the renowned rockers’ frontman Axl Rose joining her to perform the songs at her 2022 StageCoach appearance. Later that year, GNR welcomed Underwood in London and she was subsequently announced as support on select dates in North America earlier this year.

Underwood continued to wow GNR fans with her performance of Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades” in Montreal. Carrie delivered a rollicking performance of the title track off the metal pioneers’ 1980 album. Watch below:

Underwood opened her set with another classic rocker, Joan Jett’s “Reputation.” Carrie also offered songs from her latest album, 2022’s Denim & Rhinestones “Hate My Heart,” “Velvet Heartbreak” and “Out Of That Truck” along with additional classic rock covers like The Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses.” Carrie closed out the set with her own classic “Before He Cheats,” off her 2005 debut album, Some Hearts.
