Carl Broemel Covers Nick Drake’s ‘Pink Moon’ For SiriusXM

During his recent swing through New York City, Carl Broemel stopped by SiriusXM to record a live session for the satellite radio provider. Backed by the Nashville-based instrumental act Steelism, the My Morning Jacket guitarist showcased tracks from his most recent studio album Wished Out along with a partial cover of Nick Drake’s “Pink Moon.”
Broemel delivered takes on “Dark Matter,” “Out Of Reach,” “Rain Check” and the title track from his fourth LP. Additionally, the ensemble served up a 15+ minute, jammed out version of “4th Of July” from his 2016 record that saw Broemel drop in part of Drake’s iconic tune. Watch the full session below:
