Cameron Crowe will reportedly bring his 2000 semi-autobiographical film Almost Famous to Broadway. Late last week Crowe posted a video on Twitter of composer Tom Kitt (American Idiot, Next to Normal) performing an instrumental at the piano as the camera panned to a bulletin board that featured sheets of paper filled with references to both characters and songs from the movie.

According to Rolling Stone, the filmmaker has been working to develop the adaptation for the last couple of years. The project will see him team with theater director Jeremy Herrin with music by Kitt and lyrics by Kitt and Crowe. There is no further information at press time about when the Almost Famous musical will hit the Great White Way.
