Bruce Springsteen Performs ‘Darkness On The Edge Of Town’ In 1978

Bruce Springsteen, who will once again perform at Bob Woodruff’s Stand Up For Heroes benefit continues to roll out professionally shot video from his December 8, 1978 concert at The Summit in Houston via YouTube. The latest clip features Springsteen & The E Street Band performing the title track from their new-at-the-time studio album, Darkness On The Edge Of Town.

The Boss will join Jon Stewart, Ronny Chieng, Hasan Minhaj and John Oliver in performing at Hulu Theater At Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 4. Bruce has played at each of the first 12 Stand Up For Heroes benefits with the exception of 2017. Last year, Springsteen treated fans to a set that included “This Hard Land,” “If I Should Fall Behind,” “Working On A Highway” and “Dancing In The Dark.” The set will be The Boss’ first announced gig of 2019 as all previous performances this year have been surprise gigs or guest spots. Tickets for the benefit go on sale Tuesday, September 10 at 12 p.m. ET via Ticketmaster.

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band played “Darkness On The Edge Of Town” in the four-slot on December 8, 1978.
