Bruce Springsteen was the musical guest on the penultimate episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The rock ‘n’ roll great delivered his recently released song “Streets of Minneapolis.”
Springsteen put out “Streets of Minneapolis” on January 28 in response to the federal occupation of the Twin Cities area, which resulted in the deaths of two U.S. citizens, Renée Good and Alex Pretti. The pair lost their lives standing up for their neighbors in the face of cruel and inhumane treatment by DHS entities I.C.E. and CPB.
Ahead of his performance of “Streets of Minneapolis,” Bruce once again took aim at the Trump administration as well as Larry and David Ellison, who own CBS parent company Paramount:
“I am here in support tonight for Stephen, because you are the first guy in America who lost his show because we got a president who can’t take a joke. And because Larry and David Ellison feel they need to kiss his ass to get what they want. Stephen, these are small-minded people. They got no idea what the freedoms of this beautiful country are supposed to be about.”
