Eddie Vedder welcomed former MLB pitcher and musician Bronson Arroyo during his headlining slot on Sunday at the baseball-themed Innings Festival, which coincides with Spring Training in Tempe, Arizona. Arroyo joined the frontman and touring member Josh Klinghoffer for a PJ classic.

Renowned baseball fan Eddie Vedder kicked off his Innings set with another Pearl Jam classic, “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town.” He also busted out his cover of The Beatles’ “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away” for the first time since 2019, as per SetlistFM stats.

More Pearl Jam in “Wishlist” and “Soon Forget” followed with Vedder smashing a ukulele on the latter, (he also did it recently at a PJ concert). Additional covers included Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down,” U2’s “In God’s Country” and Jerry Hannan’s “Society,” which Ed included on his Into The Wild soundtrack.

Following “Society,” Vedder brought out Bronson Arroyo. Bronson, whose band had played at Innings earlier that day, strummed out the iconic opening strains of the Pearl Jam classic “Black” with Josh Klinghoffer accompanying on piano. Ed then led the group through the song off PJ’s 1991 debut album, Ten. Arroyo would also return for the “Rockin’ In The Free World” encore.
