Brittany Howard Performs ‘Goat Head’ On ‘Fallon’

By Scott Bernstein Jun 25, 2020 7:14 am PDT

Alabama Shakes frontwoman Brittany Howard was Jimmy Fallon’s musical guest on Wednesday’s at-home episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Howard teamed with members of her solo touring band for a performance of “Goat Head.”

“Goat Head” was originally released by Howard on Jaime, her debut solo album, which came out last year. The song is auto-biographical as Brittany recalls growing up in a multi-racial family in rural Alabama. Howard’s band included bassist Zac Cockrell, guitarist Alex Chakour, keyboardists Paul Horton and Lloyd Buchannan, drummer Ira Nate Smith and backing vocalists Karita Law and Shanay Johnson.
