Brian Wilson is hitting the road with fellow Beach Boys Al Jardine and David Marks for seven dates this Summer and Fall, with more to be announced soon. Wilson, Jardine and Marks will be backed by Wilson’s touring band. Click here for tickets and on-sale information.

The surviving members of The Beach Boys, Wilson, Jardine and Marks along with Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, reunited for a wildly successful new album and world tour in 2012, leading many to believe the fun would continue into 2013 and beyond. Love and Johnston, however, declined to extend the reunion and decided to tour under The Beach Boys banner without Wilson, Jardine and Marks, raising the ire of fans worldwide.

In a statement to the Los Angeles Times, Wilson said: “As far as I know I can’t be fired–that wouldn’t be cool. The negativity surrounding all the comments bummed me out. What’s confusing is that by Mike not wanting or letting Al, David and me tour with the band, it sort of feels like we’re being fired.”

In response, Love stated: “I did not fire Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys. I cannot fire Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys. I am not his employer. I do not have such authority. And even if I did, I would never fire Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys. I love Brian Wilson. We are partners. He’s my cousin by birth and my brother in music.”
