Brian Eno shared a new single, “We Let It In.” The track will land on the acclaimed composer and producer’s forthcoming album, ForeverAndEverNoMore, due out on October 14 via Verve/UMC.
ForeverAndEverNoMore — an LP addressing the climate crisis and previewed in August with the single, “There Were Bells” — marks Eno’s first album in nearly six years following his early 2017 release, Reflection. The new record is also the first to feature Brian’s own vocals on nearly every track since 2005’s Another Day On Earth.
Eno, however, incorporated a change to his voice on ForeverAndEverNoMore, “…it’s lowered” he explained in a press release. “It’s become a different personality I can sing from. I don’t want to sing like a teenager, it can be melancholy, a bit regretful. As for writing songs again—it’s more landscapes, but this time with humans in them.”
You can hear Brian’s new vocal stylings in “We Let It In,” which also sees his daughter Darla Eno singing counterpart. The track arrived with a lyric video co-directed by Eno and London-based multidisciplinary artist Orfeo Tagiuri and featuring handwriting by Brian’s granddaughter Anya. Watch it below:
