Break Science is back with their first single since 2020, “Mecha Flora.” The song is the title track on the renowned livetronica duo’s first record in five years, due out on February 2 (pre-save).

Break Science is Adam Deitch (Lettuce) and Borahm Lee (Pretty Lights Band). The duo’s last album came in the form of 2018’s Grid Of Souls and their last single, “Mettawave,” arrived in 2020. Deitch and Lee began work on the new EP, Mecha Flora, as the world was on lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic. Press materials detailed the difficult but productive time for the friends and collaborators:

Deitch & Borahm were quarantined like the rest of the world throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, but benefitted by living only 7-minutes walking distance apart from each other in their current homes of Denver, CO. These isolated recording sessions often featured Lee’s living room piano and drum set, an organic approach that empowered the producers through a dark time and invigorated the Break Science project in the process. As per their patented style, Mecha Flora is Break Science showing without telling listeners just how empowering and meditative this style of music can be.
