The Motet drummer Dave Watts lost his home and many of his possesions recently during the devastating wildfires of the Marshall Fire. Shakedown Bar Vail in Vail, Colorado will host a benefit concert featuring Bonfire Dub and special guests to raise funds for Watts this Sunday, January 16.
“We’re looking forward to being part of helping Dave rebuild after this horrible incident,” said Shakedown Bar owner Scott Rednor, a longtime Watts friend and collaborator. “Dave’s been moving Coloradoans with his grooves for 30 years, so now it’s time to rally behind him and help him through this loss.”
“We all watched with heavy hearts the tragedy unfolding in Boulder County and we are committed to support our friends, families and fellow musicians that lost everything. Vail has an incredible tradition of philanthropy and always rises to the needs of the community at large,” added WinterWonderGrass founder and Bonfire Dub’s Scott Stoughton. “During my many incredible years living in Vail, the local musicians came together many times to help those in need. I’m personally very proud of the community!”
Dave Tucker’s Sweetspot will take the stage first at 4 p.m. this Sunday. Then, Bonfire Dub & Friends will perform between 5:30 – 8 p.m. A silent auction will be held at the concert.
Tickets to A Benefit for Dave Watts are on sale now via Eventbrite with the option to donate additional funds directly to Dave Watts and his family. Fans can also donate to a GoFundMe established to assist in the cost of rebuilding.
