Bob Weir shared pro-shot video of a full performance of “Weather Report Suite” with and The Wolfpack string and horn section. The performance came during Bob Weir & Wolf Bros’ concert on April 2 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

“Weather Report Suite” is the masterpiece that closes out the Grateful Dead’s 1973 album, Wake Of The Flood. The suite consists of three parts beginning with an instrumental “Prelude” followed by “Part I” and finally, “Part II (Let It Grow).”

The April 2 show at Radio City Music Hall was night one of two celebrating the 50th anniversary of Weir’s 1972 debut solo album Ace. Bobby placed the complete “Weather Report Suite” in the second song slot of the second set.

The performance began with a stunning rendering of the “Prelude” by The Wolfpack — cellist Alex Kelly, violinist Mads Tolling, trombonist Adam Theis, trumpeter Brian Switzer and woodwind specialist Sheldon Brown. Guitarit Bob Weir then led the full ensemble including drummer Jay Lane, bassist Don Was, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and pedal steel player Barry Sless through “Part I” before the tempo picked up for “Let It Grow,” which boasted a spirited jam featuring members of The Wolf Pack once again.
