Bob Weir & Wolf Bros + Mickey Hart, Zakir Hussain & Planet Drum Confirm May 2022 Concert At Frost Amphitheater

The show will feature the first Planet Drum live performance in 15 years.

Grateful Dead and Dead & Company bandmates guitarist Bob Weir and drummer Mickey Hart will bring their respective “solo bands” to Frost Amphitheater on the campus of Stanford University in Palo Alto, California on Sunday, May 1. The concert will feature performances from Bob Weir and Wolf Bros as well as Mickey Hart with Zakir Hussain and Planet Drum.

Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, March 18 at 10 a.m. PT. Buy tickets for Bob Weir & Wolf Bros and Mickey Hart, Zakir Hussain and Planet Drum at the Frost Amphitheater via An artist presale begins tomorrow (Wednesday, March 16) at 10 a.m. PT. Fans can sign up today (Tuesday, March 15) through Seated to receive a password for the presale.

Hart and Hussain are joined in Planet Drum by fellow percussionists Giovanni Hidalgo and Sikiru Adepoju. Tedeschi Trucks Band drummer Isaac Eady will be behind the kit for the first Planet Drum performance in 15 years. Several Latin and Indian percussionists as well as West African vocalists will also participate as per a press release.

Bob Weir & Wolf Bros finds the guitarist backed by bassist Don Was, drummer Jay Lane and keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. Pedal steel guitarist Barry Sless is also aboard for the show at the Frost Amphitheater, which will feature appearances from The Wolfpack horn and strings section.

The Grateful Dead played The Frost 14 times between 1982 and 1989. Phil Lesh will perform at the recently renovated venue on June 4.
