Bob Weir and Wolf Bros added a cover of The Beatles classic “Blackbird” to their live repertoire. The debut performance came Thursday night during the first set of their show at Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey.

Weir began the night on acoustic guitar, leading drummer Jay Lane and bassist Don Was on an opening cover of Little Feat’s “Easy To Slip.” Bobby remained on acoustic for his “Gonesville,” the first-time offering of “Blackbird” and the blues staple “K.C. Moan.” Weir went back to electric for the remainder of the set, fronting takes on RatDog’s “Odessa,” Bob Dylan’s “She Belongs To Me” and Grateful Dead tunes “Corrina” and “Deal.”

The second set also started with Bobby playing acoustic guitar on “Me And My Uncle.” Weir stuck to his arsenal of electric instruments for the rest of the night, working through Dead favorites “Cassidy” and “Truckin’” as well as he and the trio’s usual weaving together “Ashes and Glass” with “Don’t Let Go.” Weir, Was and Lane rounded out the set with “Eyes Of The World,” “Standing On The Moon” and “Going Down The Road Feeling Bad.” The performance in Red Bank drew to a close with “U.S. Blues” filling the encore slot.
