Last week, we reported on Bob Weir‘s upcoming appearance at the 17th annual Americana Music Festival & Conference which will take place September 20 – 25 in Nashville. Today, it has been revealed Weir will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Performer award at the 2016 Americana Honors & Awards.

The Grateful Dead guitarist will be in Nashville to support his soon-to-be-released cowboy album, Blue Mountain. Similar to a recent appearance in New York City, Bobby will take part in a workshop in which he’ll play songs from the album as well as offer playback of LP tracks. Producer Josh Kaufman will again be on hand and Q&A moderated by Buddy Miller is also planned.

Weir will receive the Lifetime Achievement Performer award at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on September 21. Jim Lauderdale will host the event, while Miller will lead the house band. It has also been revealed singer-songwriter Shawn Colvin will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Trailblazer Award.

This October Bob Weir will hit the road for a Campfire Tour. A Chicago date has just been added.
