Goose shared video of guitarist Rick Mitarotonda and Bob Weir‘s acoustic collaboration on “Peggy-O.” The footage is from Goose’s appearance at Dead & Company’s recent Playing In The Sand destination event at the Moon Palace in Cancun, Mexico.
The Grateful Dead debuted their version of “Peggy-O,” a traditional song, on December 12, 1973. The tune remained a steady staple and crowd favorite for the rest of the band’s tenure.

“Peggy-O” has been in the Goose repertoire since 2015. Toward the end of the band’s first set at Playing in The Sand on January 15, keyboardist Peter Anspach introduced Weir before departing with the rest of Goose leaving Rick and Bobby to swap verses on an acoustic “Peggy-O.” Weir would stay on for an extensive sit-in with the full band.
