Bob Weir Among SF Music Tech Speakers

By Scott Bernstein Oct 1, 2014 10:50 am PDT

Just about two months ago Bob Weir canceled ALL of his previously-announced tour dates through January 2015. Not much has been heard from the Grateful Dead/RatDog/Furthur guitarist since the announcement, but we’re really happy to see this will soon change.

Weir is listed as a speaker for the 16th SF MusicTech Summit on November 11 at Hotel Kabuki in San Francisco. Other speakers include Rdio COO Marc Ruxin, 8tracks CEO and founder David Porter, TRI Studios CEO Chris McCutcheon, GroupMe co-founder Steve Martocci and former Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. The event takes place between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. with the agenda expected to be announced soon. Registration is available via Eventbrite.

As per the event’s website, “The SF MusicTech Summit brings together visionaries in the evolving music/business/technology ecosystem, along with the best and brightest developers, entrepreneurs, investors, service providers, journalists, musicians, and organizations who work with them at the convergence of culture and commerce. We meet to do business and discuss, in a proactive, conducive to dealmaking environment.”

We’re hoping this is the start of Bob Weir’s return to the public eye and that he’ll soon be performing for his legion of fans.
