Blink-182 fans will have to wait a little longer than expected for the band’s reunion tour to begin. Drummer Travis Barker underwent surgery on his injured finger earlier this week, leading the band to postpone a series of shows in Latin America.

Barker, guitarist Tom DeLonge and bassist Mark Hoppus will now launch the tour in St. Paul, Minnesota on May 4. The shows in Mexico and South America originally scheduled for March and April will be rescheduled for 2024. DeLonge rejoins Blink-182 for the massive world tour after parting ways with Barker and Hoppus in 2015.

Barker mentioned in an Instagram post on February 8 he dislocated his finger and tore ligaments in the digit. The drummer took to Instagram two weeks later to post a story revealing he reinjured the same finger. Travis Barker shared video on Monday of an unidentified medical worker massaging the hurt digit. A caption read “Surgery tomorrow.”

Tom DeLonge announced the postponement of the March and April shows on his own Instagram page. “I’m so sorry to everyone in South America that we couldn’t be down there,” DeLonge said. “We just had one of those freak accidents that nobody saw coming. Travis needs to go in and have surgery on his finger and we have to get that well and we have to get that strong before we do anything else.” The guitarist/vocalist called the shows “the pinnacle of our career” and promised they’ll come back and make good on the concerts.
