As reported, rockers Blackberry Smoke will release a six-song EP entitled The Southern Ground Sessions on October 26. The new EP comes as a companion to Find A Light, a full-length album the band issued earlier this year. Blackberry Smoke shared a new acoustic version of Find A Light track “Mother Mountain” from The Southern Ground Sessions featuring special guest Oliver Wood.
Blackberry Smoke recorded The Southern Ground Sessions at Southern Ground studio in Nashville. The EP contains acoustic versions of five Find A Light songs as well as a cover of Tom Petty’s “You Got Lucky” featuring Amanda Shires. Guitarist Charlie Starr, bassist Richard Turner, drummer Brit Turner, guitarist Paul Jackson and keyboardist Brandon Still recruited The Wood Brothers to add to the original “Mother Mountain,” while just Oliver appears on the acoustic rendition.
