The Black Keys hit the Ed Sullivan Theater yesterday for a performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The rockers performed a song, “Man On A Mission,” off their new album, No Rain, No Flowers.

No Rain, No Flowers arrives on Friday, August 8. As the title suggests, The Black Keys had to weather some storms before the album was able to bloom, namely, they had a major tour canceled in 2024.

“We were extremely frustrated after we had a tour cancelled,” guitarist Dan Auerbach told NME in a recent interview. “There was more to it than the tour, it’s a big, long story, but ultimately making this record helped us work through it.”

Encapsulating the LP’s theme of perseverance is “Man On A Mission,” which arrived as the second single off No Rain, No Flowers on June 20. The Black Keys debuted the heavy rocker live a couple weeks later in Berlin. It remained in rotation throughout their trek through Europe and they most recently delivered it on The Late Show as they get set to kick off the North American portion of the No Rain, No Flowers Tour.
