Less Than Face productions shared pro-shot video of Billy Strings jamming on “Spinning” and “Turmoil & Tinfoil.” The clip comes from Billy’s late night performance at Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival on July 19, 2019.

Strings and company kicked off the show with “Slow Train” followed by “Pyramind Country” into a grassy take on the Ella Fitzgerald-popularized jazz standard “Airmail Special.” Next, “Doin’ Things Right” would lead into “Dealing Despair” ahead of “Today,” John Hartford’s “All Fall Down” and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Proud Mary.”

Strings then welcomed Jake Simpson and Andy Dunnigan of The Lil Smokies for the Billy Strings debut, as per Phantasy Tour, of the Tony Rice number, “Tipper.” Simpson and Dunnigan stayed on for Bob Dylan’s “Señor (Tales Of Yankee Power)” and Keith Allison’s “Freeborn Man.” Next up, Billy delivered “Turmoil & Tinfoil,” which featured an outstanding solo from Strings beginning with a hypnotic bit of playing followed by some lightning-quick runs and capped off with some big bends. Billy then headed into the aforementioned “Spinning,” a spacey spoken word odyssey that led the band back into “Turmoil & Tinfoil.” Billy brought the set to a close with The Stanley Brothers’ “How Mountain Girls Can Love.”
