Billy Strings and his band performed “Unwanted Love” as the next installment in the String The Halls: Home For The Holidays Edition charity video series. Bluegrass duo Don Reno and Arthur Lee Smiley originally wrote “Unwanted Love.”
Billy is joined by his longtime band featuring mandolinist Jarrod Walker, bassist Royal Massat and banjo player Billy Failing on “Unwanted Love.” The video is the third installment in String The Halls: Home For The Holidays Edition series, which runs through Christmas Day when all 12 performances will be made available on audio through nugs.net.
The Reno & Smiley song has been in the Billy Strings live repertoire since April 2017, as per Phantasy Tour. The song has remained a staple since with 94 plays in three years, the last being at the Exit/Inn on July 25th during Billy’s Streaming Strings tour which saw the guitarist presenting livestream concerts from famed Nashville venues.
Proceeds from String The Halls will benefit the Nashville Rescue Mission, Musically Fed and Second Harvest Food Bank Of Middle Tennessee. Head here to purchase a poster with a password revealed in the video.
