Guitarist Billy Strings released an official music video for “Love And Regret.” The Grammy-nominated song appears on Strings’ 2021 studio album, Renewal.
Ballad “Love And Regret” earned a nomination in the Best American Roots Performance category. Additionally, Renewal is up for the Best Bluegrass Album award. Penned by Billy and Aaron Allen, Strings and his band debuted “Love And Regret” live at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on February 18, 2021. Twenty-one more live versions have followed as per Phantasy Tour.
Billy Strings described “Love And Regret” as “portrait in words” to CMT, the outlet that premiered the video. “(It’s) about a man who has messed things up with his lover,” added the Michigan native. “So while he’s not thinking straight, he runs off to be alone in the woods and dwells on the past. It’s kind of a literal song, so I think the video just follows that vibe.”
The video features the guitarist’s beloved Bluebell, a 1966 Chevelle. “I love that car,” noted Strings. “I’m glad she made a little cameo.” Nick Ray McCann directed the visual.
