Billy Joel, who recently canceled all of his concerts due to a diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), relayed a health update through Howard Stern. “He said, ‘Yeah, you can tell people, I’m not dying,’” Stern shared in a recent episode of his SiriusXM radio program.

Billy Joel cleared his concert schedule in May due to the NPH diagnosis. The condition “has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance,” a statement issued by the pianist noted.

Howard Stern said that he “saw Billy Joel two weeks ago, we had dinner together… [he’s] doing fine.” Stern added: “He said, ‘yeah, you can tell people, I’m not dying.’ He wants people to know that. He’s gotta deal with some medical stuff.”

Stern also said that the hang with his fellow Long Island native and their significant others was “delightful.” Stern shared that he played Billy “Happy Birthday” on guitar. “Then he threw up,” Howard joked.
