Billy Joel canceled all of his upcoming shows due to a recent diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). The condition “has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance,” as per an update posted to the pianist’s social media.

Billy Joel previously rescheduled several spring shows for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 due to a “medical condition.” Joel has now cleared his schedule including summer stadium plays with Sting, Stevie Nicks and Rod Stewart. The health update noted that Billy is “grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage.”

“I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding,” Billy Joel stated. Joel is “undergoing specific physical therapy” for the condition.
