Billy Joel To Celebrate 75th Birthday At Madison Square Garden As Close Of Monthly Residency Draws Near

Billy Joel will spend the night of his 75th birthday performing at an iconic New York City venue he’s played more than any other artist. Joel announced the next newly-added show in his Madison Square Garden residency will take place on that special occasion, May 9, 2024.

The birthday show will be Billy Joel’s 148th lifetime concert at The Garden and 102nd of a monthly residency that started in January 2014. The Piano Man previously revealed he will end the record-breaking run in July 2024 with his 150th lifetime show at Madison Square Garden. Details of the June and July 2024 concerts have yet to be announced.

A caveat to the birthday celebration is that the performance on May 9 is subject to change if it conflicts with a Knicks or Rangers playoff game. The NBA and NHL teams that call MSG home end their regular seasons on April 14, 2024 and April 15, 2024 respectively.

Billy Joel takes the stage at Madison Square Garden tomorrow, Friday, October 20 for the 10th-to-last show of the residency. Tickets for each remaining show besides the one announced today and the two yet to be confirmed are sold out.
