Currently on a tour promoting his recently released memoir, Deal: My Three Decades of Drumming, Dreams and Drugs with The Grateful Dead which he co-authored with Benjy Eisen, Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann stopped by Conan last night to promote the book. Billy was on the program along with fellow guests comedian Patton Oswalt and musical guest The Tallest Man On Earth.

Kreutzmann and Conan O’Brien chatted about many of the tales told in Deal including the early days of The Warlocks, performing at Woodstock and Monterey Pop and an electric experience on the old Playboy After Dark program. Watch clips of Billy’s appearance last night below:

Kreutzmann’s book tour continues today, Thursday, May 21 in Portland, Oregon at Powell’s featuring a “conversation with” the authors before Billy heads to the Bay Area for appearances at Zodiacs in Petaluma (May 26), Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley (May 27) and The Chapel in San Francisco (May 31). Percussionist Jason Hann made a surprise appearance and participated in a drum jam with Billy during the book tour’s recent stop in Los Angeles.

Billy will also appear on SiriusXM’s Jam On station as a part of the station’s “Dead-icated Memorial Day Weekend” programming for an interview and guest DJ set premiering tomorrow, Friday, May 22 at 4 p.m. ET.  Jam On will re-air Kreutzmann’s interview throughout the weekend in addition to Jam On artists performing Dead covers, a special presentation of “Grateful Moments: Some of the Biggest Grateful Dead Bustouts In Jam Band History” hosted by Ari Fink and a Dead-themed Jam Files session with Alex Bleeker & The Freaks (airing at 12 p.m. ET on Monday, May 25).
