Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann will return to the stage November 22 – 24 for a three-night “Mahalo Dead” run at Porter Pavilion on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. Kreutzmann will be joined for the shows by guitarists Jake Brownstein (Eggy) and Daniel Donato along with percussionist Jason Hann (The String Cheese Incident), bassist Reed Mathis and keyboardist Adam MacDougall (Circles Around The Sun).
Kreutzmann has spent the last week on social media teasing his first shows since Billy & The Kids' Halloween 2023 concert at The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, California. Bill The Drummer had to miss the ensuing Day Of The Dead concert in Santa Barbara after testing positive for COVID-19.

The first clip in the series leading to the “Mahalo Dead” announcement showed Kreutzmann practicing in his garage. “Went to the garage to go grab something and couldn’t help myself,” a caption accompanying the video posted this past weekend began. “Last week, a fortune cookie told me I was going to start doing what I love again. How’d it know?”
The other musicians aboard for the upcoming run shared videos on social media hinting at their participation. On Wednesday, Bill Kreutzmann posted a pair of follow-ups confirming “Mahalo Dead” will take place November 22 – 24.
