Vermont-based company Ben & Jerry’s has partnered with Phish to launch a new ice cream flavor inspired by the band. It’s Ice … Cream features Caramel Malt Ice Cream with Almond Toffee Pieces, Fudge Fish and Caramel Swirl. The flavor is part of Ben & Jerry’s limited edition special stash series and will be produced in limited quantities. It’s Ice … Cream takes its name from a Phish song written by Trey Anastasio and Tom Marshall that the band recorded for 1993’s Rift and remains a live favorite to this day.
Ben & Jerry’s first teamed with the quartet to launch the Phish Food flavor back in 1997 and last year created the flavor Freezer Reprise in honor of Phish’s historic 13-show Baker’s Dozen residency at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It’s Ice … Cream was one of the flavor options Ben & Jerry’s came up with in the mid-’90s before deciding upon Phish Food. The company commisioned artist Jim Pollock, a longtime friend of the band who frequently creates artwork for Phish, to design a print for It’s Ice … Cream. Pollock’s work can be seen on the pint containers for It’s Ice … Cream.

Jim Pollock’s print is currently up for sale through Ben & Jerry’s online store as is a special It’s Ice … Cream Gift Pack. The company also published a Q&A with Pollock. It’s Ice … Cream is available at select scoop shops, grocery stores and through the company’s online store. A portion of proceeds benefits Phish’s The Waterwheel Foundation, an organization that oversees the band’s charitable activities.
