Bela Fleck Guests With Dave Matthews Band In Colorado

By Andy Kahn Aug 29, 2015 7:00 am PDT

The Dave Matthews Band and master banjoist Bela Fleck once again teamed up last night at the DMB show at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Englewood, Colorado. The previously announced pairing saw Fleck sit-in to augment both the acoustic first set as well as the electric second set.

Matthews began Friday night’s concert with solo renditions of “Little Red Bird” and “Rye Whiskey.” Guitarist Tim Reynolds then joined Matthews on “Bartender.” The end of the set concluded with “Grace Is Gone,” “Spaceman” > “Corn Bread” which all featured Fleck on banjo. The electric second set opened with “Minarets” which was followed by “Seven,” “Warehouse,” “Black and Blue Bird,” “What Would You Say” and “Virginia in the Rain” before Fleck reemerged. Bela sat-in for “Don’t Drink the Water,” “#41” and “Lie In Our Graves” during the electric portion of the show. Fleck then left DMB alone to close out the performance with “You & Me,” “Granny” and the set closing “You Might Die Trying.” The Dave Matthews Band returns to Fiddler’s Green tonight.
