[UPDATED] The Beatles’ ‘Rooftop Performance’ Gets Official Audio Release

Audio from The Beatles‘ famed January 30, 1969 concert on the roof of their Apple Corps Headquarters in London’s Saville Row has been freshly mixed for official release. The Beatles: Get Back The Rooftop Performance is now available for streaming via Apple Corps Ltd./Capitol/UMe at 12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT.

Mixed in stereo and Dolby Atmos by Giles Martin and Sam Okell, the live album marks the first time audio of the full concert has been released. The full performance was recently featured in filmmaker Peter Jackson’s The Beatles: Get Back docuseries. Spanning 40 minutes, the set was the legendary band’s final live performance and celebrates its 53rd anniversary on Sunday.

Included within are multiple takes on “Get Back,” “Don’t Let Me Down” and “I’ve Got A Feeling.” The Beatles also played “One After 909” and “Dig A Pony” in addition to a jam based on “God Save The Queen” while tapes were changed.

SiriusXM will premiere “The Rooftop Concert Special” on The Beatles Channel today (Friday, January 28) at 11 a.m. ET. The special will not only feature the full rooftop performance but will also include commentary from Beatles historian, author and radio producer Kevin Howlett. Replays will air throughout the weekend and can be streamed via the SXM App. Additionally, Norah Jones’ covers of “I’ve Got A Feeling” and “Let It Be” from a session held atop the Empire State Building in New York City will debut on her YouTube channel today at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT.
