A long in the making Beastie Boys memoir is officially set for publication. Co-authors and surviving band mates Michael “Mike D” Diamond and Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz will publish the Beastie Boys Book on October 30.
The 592-page memoir features “rare photos, original illustrations, a cookbook by chef Roy Choi, a graphic novel, a map of Beastie Boys’ New York, mixtape playlists, pieces by guest contributors, and many more surprises.” Additional contributions were written by the likes of Amy Poehler, Colson Whitehead, Spike Jonze, Wes Anderson and Luc Sante.
Described as “a panoramic experience that tells the story of Beastie Boys,” the book has reportedly been in the works since 2013. Founding member Adam “MCA” Yauch died in May 2012 from cancer at the age of 47. The two surviving members of the influential hip-hop group officially ended the band in 2014.
