[UPDATED] Bassist Rob Wasserman Hospitalized & Facing ‘Serious Struggle’

Guitarist Bob Weir took to his social feeds this afternoon to inform fans his longtime collaborator bassist Rob Wasserman has been hospitalized and is facing “a serious struggle.” Wasserman was an original member of RatDog through 2002, sat-in with the band in 2010 during RatDog’s visit to Jamaica and then re-joined the group.

“As a few of you may have heard, my great friend and inspiration Rob Wasserman has been hospitalized and is facing a serious struggle. I hope that we can all pause to send him and his family the strength and support to face these difficult days. Rob and family, my thoughts, heart and spirit are with you today,” reads the note from Weir.
