Bandcamp Waiving Fees On May 1 To Support Artists

Bandcamp will again waive its revenue share of sales made through the website to support musicians during the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. Bandcamp’s 24 hour fundraiser will take place on Friday, May 1.

Resident Advisor and Exclaim reported Bandcamp announced the May 1 service fee waiver in an email sent to artists and labels. Bandcamp previously waived its service fees on March 20. The website sold over 800,000 items that day (15 times what is sold on a typical Friday) generating $4.3 million in sales of music and merchandise.
