BALTHVS Detail New Album ‘Manifest’ & Share ‘Motion (For Ashra)’ Single

BALTHVS shared a new single, “Motion (For Ashra),” from their forthcoming full length, Manifest. The Bogotá-based psychedelic funk trio’s sixth studio album will be released on October 7 through Mixto Records.

Founded in 2019 by self-taught guitarist Balthazar Aguiree, the group is rounded out by bassist Johanna Mercuriana and drummer Santiago Lizcano. “Motion (For Ashra)” interpolates “Oasis,” originally recorded by Kosmische Musik guitarist Manuel Göttsching as part of his Ashra project.

“Being great fans of Ash Ra Tempel, the band decided to rework Manuel Göttsching’s cosmic tune ‘Oasis’ into something else, while preserving the wonderful melodies of the late German composer,” BALTHVS collectively stated.
