Portland’s Back Cove Festival Announces Inaugural Lineup: Jack White, André 3000, More

The new event is coming to Payson Park on the waterfront in Portland, Maine in August 2 and 3.

The Back Cove Music & Arts Festival will make its debut on August 2 and 3 at Payson Place on the waterfront in Portland, Maine. Presented by GoodWorks and Shore Sound Entertainment, the impressive and eclectic inaugural lineup is led by Jack White, André 3000, Jack White, Turnpike Troubadours and Lucy Dacus.

Back Cove begins on Saturday, August 2 with performances from Lord Huron, André 3000, Thee Sacred Souls, , Griffin William Sherry, Cimafunk, Sarah Kinsley, Crowe Boys, Weakened Friends and more.

Jack White closes the new festival on Sunday, August 3 after sets by Turnpike Troubadours, Lucy Dacus, Margo Price, Ripe, Chance Peña, Madi Diaz, The Greeting Committee and Eliza McLamb, among others.

In addition to the music, Back Cove will showcase vendors offering the best of Portland’s acclaimed culinary and brewery scene. Festivalgoers are urged to take advantage of the sights and culture of Portland, Maine’s seaside neighborhoods, historic colonial buildings and cobblestone streets.

“The people of Portland, Maine are known nationwide as champions of art, music, food, and culture. I am excited to collaborate with GoodWorks & Shore Sound Entertainment to bring a world class line-up of musicians to Payson Park on the beautiful Back Cove this coming August. I thank the community for their continued commitment to celebrating the arts and thank city staff for their hard work with festival organizers to maintain park access, safety, and sustainability,” explained local official Anna Y. Bullett.

“Producing a music and arts festival with the city of Portland is a great privilege for us. Portland is made up of an incredible community of creatives, home to a world class food and beverage scene, and it doesn’t hurt that it’s in one of the most beautiful areas in the country. We are thrilled to introduce the Back Cove Music & Arts Festival to the city, and through it, put a focus on the musicians, restaurants, food-trucks, breweries, and artists that make Portland and the great state of Maine such a special place,” added Back Cove organizers Jordan Wolowitz (Shore Sound) & Tyler Grill (GoodWorks).
