Arcade Fire Welcomes Jim Kerr For Simple Minds Hit In Glasgow

Montreal-based rockers Arcade Fire recently completed a run of shows in London in which they brought out special guests each night. The band continued the trend on Monday night at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland; as Simple Minds frontman Jim Kerr emerged to lead Arcade Fire on “Don’t You (Forget About Me).”

Arcade Fire welcomed Kerr to the stage after the sixth song of the night. The hometown hero received a huge reception from the crowd as Arcade Fire lit into Simple Minds’ 1985 smash. Jim Kerr belted out “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” with help from the audience.

Preservation Hall Jazz Band opened the evening with a set of their own and then came out to augment Arcade Fire for the last two songs of the encore including “Wake Up.” Both groups then left the stage via the floor as they played portions of David Bowie’s “Rebel Rebel.”
