Buffalo’s own Aqueous played both days of this year’s Cobblestone Live festival in their hometown July 27 and 28. The quartet fit a pair of Flaming Lips covers into their Cobblestone Live set on July 27 and shared official audio featuring both as well as an original on Soundcloud.
Guitarist Mike Ganzter, multi-instrumentalist Dave Loss, drummer Rob Houk and bassist Evan McPhaden opened their set on the 27th with old favorites “King For A Day” and “Random Company” before unveiling new original “Say It Again.” Aqueous then treated Buffalo fans to a sequence of “Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt. 1” > “Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt. 2” > “Numbers & Facts.”

The quartet hadn’t played the first part of the title track from Flaming Lips’ 2002 album in 375 shows, while it had been 595 shows since they last performed “Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt. 2.” Original “Numbers & Facts” dates back to 2015. All told, the “Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt. 1” > “Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt. 2” > “Numbers & Facts” spanned nearly 30 minutes.
