This Friday, Southern soul singer Anderson East will release Encore, an album produced by Dave Cobb and recorded mostly at Nashville’s historic RCA Studios. Last night, Anderson East and his band were Stephen Colbert’s musical guest on the Tuesday night installment of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

“Girlfriend,” the latest single off Encore, was penned by East, Cobb, Aaron Raitiere and Avicii. Anderson showed off his stage presence and strong voice during his appearance on The Late Show. Watch how it went down:

Anderson East kicks off the Encore World Tour 2018 with a sold-out show at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City on Thursday night. East then performs at NYC’s Music Hall Of Williamsburg on release day before a pair of hometown shows in Nashville and a trip to Europe.
