Amy Helm & The Handsome Strangers are currently on the road supporting The Word on the supergroup’s most extensive tour since 2002. The pairing has yielded a number of collaborations as for example in Chicago Helm sat-in with The Word and guitarist Luther Dickinson performed with Amy and her band on a cover of “Atlantic City.”

Bruce Springsteen wrote and recorded “Atlantic City” for inclusion on his 1982 album Nebraska. The Band, which featured Amy’s father Levon Helm, added their own spin to “Atlantic City” for the 1993 studio album Jericho. Levon sang The Band’s heartfelt versions of the Springsteen tune for both the studio version and live takes. The elder Helm continued to perform “Atlantic City” with The Levon Helm Band after The Band parted ways for the final time in 1999.
